The author is a former lecturer, speaker , writer and Christian apologist. He is a former student of Stellenbosch University where he obtained a BA,BA Honours, MA and HED. He is the founder and former chairperson of the Truth and Science Forum, which promotes truth and objectivity concerning creation science.

He is the presenter of a variety of courses on the subject .He and his wife, Hermien, have  been married for 43 years .Their three children are also married and they currently have four grandchildren. They have resided in Wellington near Cape Town in South-Africa for 43 years.
